WOB AL Program

Our “women on boards » program is a holistic and ongoing initiative that not only prepares women for board positions but also advocates for systemic changes in corporate governance to promote diversity and inclusion. It is designed to empower women to take on leadership roles in the corporate world and contribute to more equitable and effective boardrooms. It is designed to equip women with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to succeed in corporate board positions.

our program for 2023- 2024 period will we aim to

  • Connect with all the “Civil society” organisations operating in Albania and the region and be present on social debate.
  • Raise awareness and create a platform for action – involving business organisations eager to build on the value of diversity and women empowerment.
  • Create the flatform for connecting, sharing and growing “inside out & outside in”.
  • “Board Readiness” program initiation – first wave, in collaboration with EWOB.
  • Kickstart the awareness campaign on ESG for Boards & implications for women empowerment.

WOB-AL includes:

Education and Training:

  •  Leadership and governance training specific to board roles.
  • Financial literacy and understanding of corporate finance.
  • Legal and regulatory aspects of corporate governance.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills.

Thematic conversations and skills building, like :

  • ESG for leaders and Boardroom 
  • AI for leaders and Boardroom
  • Innovation for leaders and Boardroom
  • Digital Transformation for leaders and Boardroom
  • Communication for leaders and Boardroom

Mentorship and Coaching:

  • Pair participants with experienced board members as mentors.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to address individual needs and challenges.

Networking Opportunities:

  • Facilitate networking events with current board members and executives.
  • Create a peer support network for program participants.

Board Placement Assistance:

  • Help identify board opportunities and assist with the application process. –
  • Provide resources for crafting an effective board resume and cover letter.

Board Simulations and Case Studies:

  •  Offer opportunities for participants to practice boardroom scenarios.
  • Analyze real-world case studies to understand board dynamics.
  • « One day CxO » program

Diversity and Inclusion Training:

  • Raise awareness of diversity and inclusion issues within boards.
  • Promote strategies for overcoming bias in board recruitment.

Personal Branding and Communication:

  •  Enhance participants’ communication and public speaking skills. 
  • Teach effective personal branding and storytelling for board interviews.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Explore strategies for building relationships with shareholders and stakeholders.
  • Discuss responsible and sustainable business practices.

Ethics and Compliance:

  •  Address ethical dilemmas that board members may face.
  • Ensure understanding of legal and compliance obligations.

Continuous Learning:

  • Encourage ongoing education through workshops and seminars. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging governance issues.

Alumni Network:

  •  Create an alumni network to foster continued learning and collaboration.
  • Encourage program graduates to support new participants.

Measuring Success:

  • Establish clear metrics to track participants’ progress and success in obtaining board positions.

Advocacy and Research:

  • Conduct research on women’s representation on boards in the industry.
  • Advocate for policy changes to promote diversity on boards.

Evaluation and Feedback:

  • Collect feedback from participants to continuously improve the program.
  • Regularly assess the program’s impact on participants’ board careers.

Such activities are programed throughout the year face-to-face or virtually; with local and international speakers, with local and international participants.
